Diwali is one India’s biggest festivals and it is celebrated by Indians all around the globe. Often referred to as the “festival of lights”, Diwali symbolises the victory of light over darkness, and good over evil.

There have been numerous Diwali events happening all over Melbourne, and Sapphire Dance has been kept super busy with 8 performances over the last 4 days. There have also been massive celebrations world-wide, but here is my favourite Diwali moment from this week – a group of New Zealand police officers performing a Bollywood routine at their local Diwali festival!

Sapphire Dance is looking forward to a few days break before our next event, and I wish my dancers lots of treats, happiness and a well deserved rest today. I intend to eat too many ladoos, and then check out Aishwarya in Bollywood’s latest Diwali release, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”. In the meantime, here’s Aishwarya in the ultimate ‘diya’ dance of all time – “Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka”.

From everyone at Sapphire Dance, we wish all our family, friends, customers and fellow dancers a very Happy Diwali!!!
